Chapter-15, Verse 11

Ashtavakra Gita Verse 15.11

त्वय्यनन्तमहाम्भोधौ विश्ववीचिः स्वभावतः ।
उदेतु वाऽस्तमायातु न ते वृद्धिर्न वा क्षतिः ॥ ११ ॥

In you, the infinite ocean, the world-wave rises and falls by its own nature.
Let it rise or subside, there is no gain or loss for you. || 11 ||

- The speaker, Ashtavakra, addresses the listener, Janaka, as the infinite ocean of Consciousness, which is the ultimate reality and the source of all existence.

- The world-wave refers to the phenomenal world of names and forms, which is constantly changing and impermanent. It is a projection of the mind, which is influenced by ignorance, desire, and karma.

- The speaker advises the listener to remain detached and unaffected by the rise and fall of the world-wave, which is beyond his control and does not affect his true nature. He should not identify with the body, mind, or ego, which are part of the world-wave, but with the ocean of Consciousness, which is his True Self.

- The speaker implies that the listener has already Realized his True Self and attained liberation from the cycle of birth and death. He has no attachment or aversion to anything in the world, and no fear or sorrow. He is free from duality and enjoys supreme peace and bliss.
