Chapter-15, Verse 7

Ashtavakra Gita Verse 15.7

विश्वं स्फुरति यत्रेदं तरङ्गा इव सागरे ।
तत्त्वमेव न सन्देहश्चिन्मूर्ते विज्वरो भव ॥ ७ ॥

Where this world appears, like waves in the ocean,
That alone is the Truth, without any doubt, O embodiment of Consciousness, be free of fever.

This verse conveys the message of non-duality and Self-Realization. It implies that the world that we perceive through our senses is not different from the Ultimate Reality, which is the Pure Consciousness that pervades everything. Just as waves are nothing but water in motion, the world is nothing but Consciousness in manifestation. There is no distinction between the subject and the object, the seer and the seen, the knower and the known. All are expressions of the same essence.

The verse also urges us to be free of fever, which means to be free of attachment, aversion, delusion, and suffering. These are the symptoms of ignorance, which makes us forget our True Nature and identify with our body, mind, and ego. By realizing that we are not these limited entities, but the infinite and blissful Consciousness, we can transcend all dualities and attain peace and Realization.

The verse also affirms that there is no doubt about this Truth, which is self-evident and direct. It does not depend on any external authority or proof. It can only be experienced by oneself, through the Self, to the Self. This is the essence of Vedanta, which means the end of Knowledge. It is not a mere intellectual or philosophical speculation, but a practical and experiential Realization.

Some other Vedic texts that convey a similar message are:

Chandogya Upanishad 6.2.1
 एकमेवाद्वितीयं ब्रह्म
There is only one Brahman without a second.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.4.10
अहं ब्रह्मास्मि
 I am Brahman.

Chandogya Upanishad 6.8.7
तत् त्वम् असि
That thou art.
